- A collection of mostly 12”x12” stone in a mix of Marble and Travertine in a range of finishes. Stone brings a high end feel to any job, producing a look of timeless elegance.
- Travertine and Marble belong to the larger family of stone called limestone. Marble has had additional heat and pressure applied to it by the earths crust. Travertine is formed by minerals dissolving in ground water and then being deposited on the earth’s surface by rivers, natural springs, or geysers. Giving Marble that smoother finished feel and travertine the more pitted and earthy effect.
The Advantages:
- Marble and Travertine are very rich in color and finish, and when maintained properly will provide a look to outlast all changes in trends always looking elegant and rich.
- Marble and Travertine tile does need a little more in the way of maintenance compared to ceramic or porcelain tile. Initial sealing of the stone is done prior to closing. Re-application of sealer by the homeowner is recommended every 2-3 years dependant on the use of the area.
- Marble and Travertine has been used in the construction of the buildings for thousands of years. In today’s construction, travertine is used for flooring, cladding on buildings, showers, wall coverings and counter tops. It is suitable for any application in a home, always providing it is maintained properly.
- Marble and Travertine can be viewed as a hypoallergenic choice for flooring, being a dense surface upon which antigens, and particles which is cause allergy symptoms to become inflamed, are less able to reside then they would in carpeting.
