In-Floor Heating Guide
At Ceramic Decor we offer two types of electric in floor heating. Each has it's own advantages and are both high quality products. Below is a quick reference on each system to help our customers decide which is suitable for them. - greater than 70 sq ft of heated area recommended to use 240V kits
- it is especially beneficial to use cables in irregular shaped areas

| Installation Method |
- increases overall thickness of finished floor approx. 1/4"
- mat is adhered to substrate using 1/4x 1/4 trowel spreading mapei ultra flex II and feather off perimeter of mat with excess thin set (allow to dry 18-24 hrs)
- thermostat probe is installed also in mat, leads are left at edge of floor for hook up
- tile to be installed over mat with appropriate thin set for type of tile (Ceramic Décor will install mats and probe as part of installation but licensed electrician (hired by customer) will need to connect the power and install thermostat.

Over plywood:
- wire mesh is fastened to sub floor then cable is installed (licensed electrician) with 3" spacing.
- sand mix is then poured over cables and cures for 24 hrs before tile to be installed
On concrete:
- cables are installed directly on concrete (tap cons will asten tracks) with approx. 2" spacin
- Mapei primer L or primer k is used to prime exposed concrete
- sand mix is poured over cable level, smooth and allow to cure 24 hrs before installing tile
- Ceramic Decor pours sand mix as part of installation but an electrician is needed to install cables and connect power.
